JOHN 4:35

New King James Version (NKJV)

35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

We desire to see the lost come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ and experience a true relationship with our Savior.

We are the people of God called into the body of Christ and unified by the Holy Spirit. each person has distinct value and deserves mutual respect in an atmosphere of unconditional love.

In order to operate in accordance with God's will in the fullest potential, we must embrace these four elements:

  1. Unity
  2. Individual Significance
  3. Mutual Respect
  4. Unconditional Love

WE BELIEVE

-In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

-In the one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

-That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary.

-That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

-That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

-That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

-In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

-Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.

-In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

-In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

-In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

-Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

-In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saint's feet.

-In the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus. first, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

-In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

WHERE DID WE COME FROM?

On October 19, 1980, 26 people met in the music room of Cedar Bluff Intermediate School. This was the birth of Park West Church of God. Since this time, God has blessed and confirmed with miracles, the physical and spiritual labor of this community of faith.

From 1980 to 1991, the church continued to grow, both numerically and financially. During this time, the church developed leaders, and the body grew spiritually mature. The Lord led Park West Church to several locations before finally settling at 7635 Middlebrook Pike, with the purchase of 9.93 acres. On August 25, 1991, the church held it's first service in the new 350-seat sanctuary.

In early 1998, Park West Church was blessed to purchase 7 acres adjoining the current property. In July of the same year, a new 1,000-seat sanctuary with foyer, nursery, and choir room, opened adjacent to the existing building.

Park West Church currently has over 2,000 members as Pastor McGinnis shares the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Pastor McGinnis has a passion to reach the city of Knoxville and to help those who are hurting to discover their destiny through Jesus Christ.

In April 2004, the Benevolence & Training Center was dedicated as the latest phase of development at Park West Church. This beautiful 42,000 sq. ft. facility has numerous classrooms, a gym, café, food pantry. This facility will further the vision of impacting our community by helping those who are hurting.

We would love to have you visit with us! We desire for you to experience God's perfect plan for your life. The Lord continues to bless this ministry and church that started in October of 1980. Today, prayer, faith and obedience are still vital keys that empowers this body of believers to impact our city, nation and the world.
