SUMMARY OF JOB: Needed for basic housekeeping and custodial duties with set up and tear down duties for events in busy area church. Could include cleaning floors, windows and furniture; emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies; along with moving furniture. In addition, could be asked to perform miscellaneous semi-skilled maintenance and repair work.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE: 6 MONTHS preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Salary will be based on experience.


  • Basic Cleaning Techniques
  • Applicable equipment and tools
  • Applicable cleaning chemicals
  • Some related computer software, basic written and oral instructions
  • Basic knowledge for small repair and maintenance items
  • Painting and building
  • Safety principals
  • Light lawn and grounds work


  • Cleaning and sanitizing facilities and equipment, operating manual and power equipment
  • Handling and applying applicable cleaning chemicals
  • Using applicable tools and equipment
  • Monitoring and replenishing inventory
  • Using a computer for related software applications
  • Maintain and repair small electrical equipment and/or units
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Some painting and carpentry work
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates,coworkers, supervisor, the general public and church environment must be sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.


  • Position will require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking and hearing along with repetitive motions
  • Heavy Work: Must be able to exert force and/or lift and move up to 100 pounds during any giving day of your work schedule. This will be consistent and/or constant. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties are a sampling and are not meant to be exhaustive.

Candidate will be required to perform a variety of custodial duties including things such as; replenishing paper supplies, towels and soap, dusting; mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors; emptying trash; and/or any related activities. You will also be required to sanitize items and areas by cleaning and disinfecting floors, windows, sinks, counters, toilets, water fountains and other fixtures and perform related such activities. You may be asked to monitor available inventory and notify appropriate staff when necessary along with maintaining appropriate logs, checklists and records. Again, this is not an exhaustive list therefore you will be required to perform any necessary, related job in this department.
